Since 2018, we have been providing trauma-informed and affirming care for individuals and their families.

Our Mission

At Beasley Family Therapy Services, our mission is to provide compassionate and culturally sensitive mental health therapy services to the transgender and LGB community. We are committed to promoting mental well-being, resilience, and empowerment through the integration of anti-racist pedagogy, trauma- informed evidence-based interventions, and WPATH standards of care.

We aim to create a safe and inclusive space where individuals can explore their unique identities, experiences, and challenges. Our practice recognizes the intersecting and complex nature of gender identity, sexual orientation, and race, and we strive to honor and affirm the diverse lived experiences of our clients.

Through our therapeutic approach, we prioritize the following principles:

  1. Culturally Competent Care: We recognize the importance of understanding and respecting the diverse cultural backgrounds, experiences, and identities of our clients. Our therapists are dedicated to ongoing education and training to ensure culturally competent care that is free from bias, discrimination, and stereotypes.

  2. Evidence-Based Interventions: We are committed to using interventions that are supported by rigorous research and clinical evidence. By employing evidence-based practices, we strive to provide effective and impactful therapy that promotes positive mental health outcomes for our clients.

  3. Intersectional Lens: We acknowledge the intersectionality of gender identity, sexual orientation, and race. Our therapeutic approach incorporates critical race theory, which allows us to critically examine and address the unique challenges and systemic barriers faced by transgender and LGB individuals from different racial backgrounds.

  4. Empowerment and Resilience: We believe in fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes empowerment, resilience, and self-determination. Our therapists work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that honor their individual strengths and aspirations.

  5. Community Engagement: We actively engage with the transgender and LGB community to foster a sense of belonging and support. We collaborate with community organizations, advocate for equitable policies, and strive to reduce mental health disparities through outreach, education, and awareness initiatives.

Through our dedication to inclusive and affirmative therapy, we aim to support our clients in their journey towards self-discovery, personal growth, and mental well-being.
